Thor: The Dark World

PG-13
Starring: Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman,Tom Hiddleston, Anthony Hopkins, Christopher Eccleston, Rene Russo and Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje
Running Time: 2 Hours

Thor: The Dark World is the sequel to "Thor" the original movie released in 2011. So for myself, this was the perfect scenario in which to screen a super-hero movie. 3-D, D-Box theater (which is, if your not familiar with it, a motion activated seat that moves with the action and sound of the movie). It was the perfect situation for not only a great movie, but a genuinely fun movie! As always, when there is a super-hero movie you know that there will be the bad guys vs the good guys but you never know how it will play out in the long-run. This one really works, it was just pure fun entertainment!
The powerful Chris Hemsworth reprises his role as Thor, the
hammer-wielding God of Thunder and Lord of Asgard.
Hemsworth is so good in this role that I believe that he will always be known as the super-hero in the eyes of the world.
When the ancient dark forces of evil descend upon the world, most noticeably, London and the Nine realms, Thor battles to save the Universe and all the inhabitants therein. The diabolical and evil leader Malekith (Christopher Eccleston) of the Dark Elves is as maligned and sinister as they come! Bringing disaster and heartache to all they encounter!
The infamous Loki (Tom Hiddleston) Thor's envious brother (or half-brother) makes an appearance and does not disappoint! Hiddleston is excellent in the role of the evil and very jealous brother. They team up to defend and save everyone from the Dark Elves but does Thor ever really trust Loki or can he trust Loki?
Jane Foster (Natalie Portman) is a young scientist who gets caught up in all of the commotion and becomes Thor's love interest. I really enjoyed the chemistry between them.
Thor: The Dark World is just a really fun and entertaining escape movie. If you enjoyed the original I believe you will really enjoy The Dark World!
Parents be advised, it is rated PG-13 for sci-fi action, some really evil and intimidating characters and scary situations. I think children ages 12-13 and up would be fine with this movie.
I am giving "Thor: The Dark World" four bags of popcorn.
